21-Year-Old Bites Officer On Long Island, Police Say

A man has been arrested after he allegedly bit an officer during a skirmish at a Long Island hospital, police claimed.

Essex County, Massachusetts resident Anthony C. Gomez, age 21 of Lawrence, was admitted as a patient into East Meadow’s Nassau Univesity Medical Center on Wednesday, Feb. 28, according to Nassau County Police.

At just about 2 p.m., the Lawrence man allegedly became aggressive with medical personnel.

When police stepped in, Gomez bit the officer in the leg.

Officials said he was eventually subdued and placed under arrest.

Gomez is charged with assault. He will be arraigned when it is medically practical to do so.
